I've been blowing glass for about ten years. In order to discover new horisons in glassblowing I've made working with glow powders my focus. All of the glow powder you see here is completely encaced. and all of the pictures in the glow were taken without a blacklight on for the picture. It really does glow in the dark!! The powder does need to be charged by a light source to glow, and a blacklight workes best. The longer you charge the powder the longer it will glow. I picked this lathe up a couple of years ago. It was designed by N.A.S.A. and Heathway with special help from Homer Hoyt(Scientific glass wizard and Boro Art pioneer) It was designed specificly to make specialty parts for early space travel. It weighs over 2 thousand pounds. I had to rent a forklift to pick it up and drop it at my house. This is one of 4 lathes like this to be built. For most of this lathes life it was run on 24 hour shifts by glassblowers for almost 20 years and still runs like a champ and came with some unique features.

Just gold, silver, and turbo cobalt. The molded Shiva was pressed while hot, not slumped! The mold that it was pressed from was hand made by your's truely. Using my own recipie of materials, and technique.

This piece is glowing wihtout a blaklight being on for the pictures. it was charged up with one prior to the picture being taken. I've found that the longer you charge up the powder the longer it will glow. some colors will go on more time than others
