I really put the heat in on this one. The unfortunate part is my oxygen supply began to run out as I was getting close to finishing it. A rather abrupt ending to one of the best pipes I’ve made.

As If by fate, a friend called that weekend and adopted a piece to a good home in Washington State. Happy trails ICE Blue.

Practice, practice, practice.

hey
I meen ABSOLUTLY no OFFENSE by THIS but...dont give these to people. they will get hurt. imagine smoking outta a busted beer bottle and youll get the idea. just turn em into marbles and put em in a fish tank or something. you need more practice and common sense, its the old just cause you can do something doesnt mean you should. practice practice practice, start by melting all that color in then shape it.All those bumps that arent melted in have acute angles in them and could pop at any minute sendin shards of death thru the air and into your "friends " lungs, eyes, fingers lips, just practice for a month and then once you go the hang of it THEN give em to friends. keep tryin though we all started somewhere...keep it positive folks, no point bashin another newbie.

hey...
try pulling your color thinner before applying it, also make sure it melts into the other piece of glass you are keeping hot. it may be a good idea to stick to beads for a while until you understand the concepts of glass better. rule of thumb: all acute angles in a piece that are 90 degrees or less will probably crack your stuff. best of luck...get some good reading materials.

Keep it up
Don't let naysayers put you down, you've got a good solid start and are swoing consistantly that at least the stuff you are making will work.

Suggestion - Read books, watch videos, if you can get glassworking classes in your area, take them.

Most importantly of all, feel free to ask for help, if you see a piece you like, ask how it was made, hte worst someone will say is no, but at least I will always tell how I did it to the best of my ability and I know others here do the same.

I don't see you as competition, I see you as another potential artist who may soem day create something that I will look at and ask myself, "How can I reproduce X Y or Z from it and add it to my own artwork?"
