? stemless penetration cruizer???

? stemless penetration cruizer???

round 2.... a good friend got the first model of this piece at Diversity fest. on Texada island a few weeks ago, before i got a chance to take pics.... i kinda liked the proportions of the first one better. it doesn't hold much water, as the chamber is basicly a flat surface.... the last 2 pics are of one of the chambers that cracked while werkin it, to give a better view... hope you like. 7.5" x 3.5"

amber stemless

amber stemless

this is the second model of a design that i "came up with" while bustin out a piece with a friend, also named Dan. we never finished the first one, and he went back to his island... so i made a second one. a a demo/colab with Chris Windsor and friends was part of the inspiration for a 'windowed disk-based stemless'the reason i use "quotations" on "came up with" is 'cuz i dont know if i've seen this specific design before. if i have i dont remember. i must say, however, that there are obvious influences in this piece, most notably FRO. sorry if this is someone else's design, it wasnt intentional. props to everyone who's ever done windows or discs or stemlesses, especially the ones stylish and slick enough to be inspirational.

Fluid Onion collab

Fluid Onion collab

dunno what to say about this beaster. the first 3 pics are of a section that Onion made a while back and kinda lost his direction on. as soon as i saw it i had an idea, and he was glad to see it leave his shop with renewed potential. it was fun working in a new way, kinda hammering stuff together and deciding while molten what to do next. i'm pretty stoked with the end results. it is 8" long at its longest dimention, and it bubbles like mad!
thanks for the head start, Onion, i couldn't have done it without you!
hope you like.

holey scrap, batman!!!

holey scrap, batman!!!

arrrrgh!!!! devit, reduction, cracks, foaming. i dont have the pieces sitting around anymore, tho!! it's a double layer tube(clear) with a buncha donuts thru it, with the stem down the middle. the idea is that there's so many donuts that there's no need for a 'chamber' it doesnt leak, at least, and the concept worked.... but i dont know if i'll revisit this one any time soon.

home for an old piece

home for an old piece

just got a new kiln. decided it's time to use some old pieces rather than making more to sit around. the hanging chamber is about a year and a half old, minus the cobalt additions. i could never come up with a design that worked well with it. now it's part of a double bub. i really dont know what to say... i think it is about the largest, most elaborate piece i've made.it burbulates like mad. hope you like.

one piece bub (well, almost)

one piece bub (well, almost)

everything hollow on this one, ecxept the downstem, is pulled from a single bubble, not welded on. the mouthpiece was dragged off the top of the can. top of can then honeycombed to add enough mass to push a bowl.... bla bla... lotta explainin... lotta fun... mostly playing around with color transition and variation.

prototype corkscrew doubler

prototype corkscrew doubler

i had an idea last night, and brought it to fruition. the chamber under the bowl is basicly 2 tubes wrapped around eachother. the smoke goes down one coil, bubbles up one side, back into the other half of the coil and down again, into the second chamber, then out. it's pretty small, so not much h2o, but it werx! thanks fer lookin'

standymajigger

standymajigger

stands about 10 inches tall. i wanted to see how a downstem would seal in between 2 donuts, and the rest of the piece grew from there. silver and clear.
