my name is Dan, and i've been on a torch since '99 in BC Canada. i'll continue to play with glass and fire 'till i cut and burn my hands off... at that point i'll have to learn to spin with my feet! cant get enough of this stuff.
thanks to everyone who posts and browses this site, it has been a great source of information, inspiration, and connection.

Omaha Glass Coalition
you...
really went off on the shaping....
and i agree definitely some sort of psychadelic instrument wackiness...
i.m.o. throw 3 more contrasting colors on top of the 2 and you got yourself a wicked little monster there

Fluid Motion Glassworks
thanks, y'all
awesome, thanks for the comments and critique, everyone. i was thinking of some more contrast, but i was also using up pieces that had been sitting around for up to a year... and i rarely make single color pieces(almost, anyway) so a little laziness on my part. i was also expecting it to fall apart in the kiln, because the sparkle colors are so touchy. it was largely a test/experiment in shaping and contour. as for contemporary shaping... i agree, but looking back, and looking around, it also reminds me of venitian glass, with the delicate curls and marias and whatnot.... musical, pre-historic, futuristic... i see it all.... living metal, it reminds me of.
thanks again, this one was fun to make, and now i'm having more fun reading all your comments, and thinking of all the possibilities!
