~Solid Insideout Tube pulls~ This is how i do most of my tube pulls. Solid Insideout is my favorite Prep tech. it sorta looks like a stick stack but its alot easier...:)This can save time and makes alot of tube! Enjoy....:)

Choose a layout and start laying them, I usually do four sides then fill in the spaces. This helps to keep things centered.

keep laying in Lines till you fill up the cup! once you can no longer see in your cup point your torch at a downward angle so you can see in there to lay your last few lines.

Heat and push the lines of color down to help eliminate all trapped air.

if you have a problem of your glass getting stuck to your paddle try useing a thin coat of bee's wax! I tried this for the first time the other day and it works amazingly!

Once you've blown this tube out and melted it down proper start streching it out, i usually do this out of the flame.

When i strech these they tend to have thicker spots on the ends, you can strech those out more after.

Been on the torch since January of 2000 Recently became more addicted to glass then i ever have! I owe many thanks to Toadstool Gilbert, Mike Luna And Darby for opening this world up to me! Also thanks to Daniel Trilli and all the Homies in Arizona for my most recent major inspiration! Glass will be my life until i cant use my hands anymore! if anyone would be interested in lessons just drop me a line....:)

PS. In order to pursue my own styles i will no longer be doing custom pieces. All glass for viewing only......Thanks~~~;) Eush

heavy vs medium wall?
I have noticed that medium wall tubing seems to melt a little faster and also seems to "suck" the color lines deep into the clear with better definition in the line. Am I crazy or is there an actual difference between heavy wall and medium wall for inside out?
Thanks for the step-by-step on the technique, much love and respect.

Ryno
hmmmm.....
zig did a dichro tube pull layout one time... i follow his instruction w/o the dichro and get some quick thick pulls...
-lay the lines on the outside of the tube(heavywall)...
-melt it in...
-lay 10mil clear over all of it...
-melt the fuck out of it...
-pull...

try it... having the layer of clear on bothsides of the color makes it thick. thick=more tube
just adding some info... thanks -ryno

twist?
thanx bro does anybody else twist thiers all one way when you pull it then twist the other way when you make the sections for the swich backs. or does it work better to keep it straight like shown here then do the twists in the sections individualy? guess ill have to experiment eh? anyway thanx.

Mistahead
nice piece!!!
i just dont see how thats easier than doing a stick stack though imo? but to each is own i guess ive been trying afew different ways of pulling tubes lately they each have advantages and dis advantages though. bbut definetly a nice step by step....thanks bro!!

Eusheen
Thanks for the input all!
Ive noticed i get alot more tubing if i use 5 mil. Medium wall does melt in quicker and is really good if your just making a smaller piece or if your not filling the cup all the way up with color, and yes you can get more depth with medium wall tube.
Thank RYNO for your input, i have done a few Tube encasement pulls but for some reason i still like doing it this way.....I am gonna try tube incase again though...:)
As far as i know most people pull all their tube out strait and do wig wags after, twisting all the tube might work but sounds alot harder to me.
And the heat shield marver tool i have on my torch. was made by DC Tools/ (Darby) but he's not making then anymore. I think he would rather be blowing glass....:) But you can check out Menzies Tools He makes the nicest tools out there and a Torch mounted marver Heat shield thats pretty dope...:) Call 903-835-1154 ....They are nice people...:)

:)
I don't know how to say this without it coming out wrong...I think that you could do stick stacks WAYYYYYY faster and come out with the exact same result. You might use a bit more color, but the time saved is worth it. If you use n8's method you never even touch the color with the flame. I don't know about laying all the color on the outside either, seems like it would take way longer and you would have WAYYY more of a chance of working a bit too fast and boiling some color. I can do a tube pull from start of prep to finish, that looks inside out because the inner tube is un-melted sticks of color that have valleys in-between which fill with clears you encase, in about 30 minutes. If you want more info on this tech just come over the the gldg forums and look for n8's stick stack method.

thats tight, took me like 20 minutes to melt all the color in but got enough tube for several large points! largest tube i have is 44 mil, i wanna try again with 50. As a rookie glassblower step by steps like this really help alot! Thanx for this i found it easier than stick stacking. P.S. Nice chin.
