" I suddenly became stangely inebriated. The external world became changed as in a dream.Objects appeared to gain in relief; they assumed unusual dimensions;and colors became more glowing .Even self-perception and the sense of time were changed. When the eyes are closed, colored pictures flashed past in a quickly changing kaleidoscope. After a few hours, the not unpleasent inebriation, which had been experienced whilst I was fully conscious, disappeared. What had caused this condition ?"

Hey>>>
Thanks Shad!...Nicely put-about the mountains and trails and shit....i definately look back and try to remember all the stuff i forgot over the years.Whats old is new ,whats new gets old ,etc etc.
And i'm undeniably & constantly swiping techs from everything i've ever seen...always have, always will...thats how glass techniques have continued to evolve over the centuries....it all swirls forward as a whole...I have taken all my knowledge from the glass community in general ....and as you can see from the amount of stuff i've posted that i've put alot back into the glass community.its like a bank-you put in & you take out...

~Thanks to the thousands of glass artists that came before all of us were even born.

To Eric/// sorry if i came off a little grumpy before..just got up from a nap...ZZZZZZZZ

but i think i have been up and down the hill and around ,sure ther e might be some more trails to the top of the mountain there always is,,,i hope with perseverence and looking i will find those trails,,,as anyone should find these trails to the top because they are public trails,,,all i was saying is there is somany techs out there,,,,and we all use them they are are tools for our vehicle to the top....i didnt even know who smiley was bitchin at i was just trying to put light were there was not i hope we all find different trails to the top ,but they alll lead to the top if your heart is into it...so every body should deflate there big heads we all suck,,,be humble..shad...ps,,,,go to work youre never gonna get to the top sittin on these fuckin computers

another thing
some of us take the marked trails up the hill ,,and some of us say i dont need a trail at all ,some people make there own trails to the top ,but most of us take the trail that is already there,,regardless we all know how steep this hill is and it is defenitly easier to take the marked trails,,who wants to bush push all the way to the top...there is a point in all our indevers when we reach the top of the hill...and you know what you see at the top,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,another fuckin hill.mountain whatever....so you have to go down and climb the next one...all im saying is we all should try and shoot for the top,,,sky the limit....unless your god ,,,or something....namaste

Oh Yeah....Just for the record...-A drunkin' ,drug induced ramble...
In referance to Eriks/// next to last comment...
Way back when,Back in the Woods and up on the Mountain-I Was there....maybe not double discs just like this-but not too far off either.

I've been blowing glass now since '97-& there's not a whole lot i haven't been exposed to...i've read a lot of shit and seen a lot of shit and tried a lot of shit and learned a lot of shit-worked with some talented people along the way-And Worked My Ass off for a long time.
(Never taken any classes-wouldn't have minded just never did-never had an apprenticeship, and no one i knew in the pipe world where i started knew shit back then)

So anyway somewhere around '99 i read an old illustrated soft glass manual(Still available at Glass Craft i think)that had an illustrated step by step how-to,on doing basic drop-ins-(Sheath) retticellos..so of course I tried to apply it to Boro-and did succeed in making them(there are people who can verify this) -and did use them in pieces...these were some of the first retticello techniques i learned.
There's not too much difference between dropping two opposing spirals in one another and dropping a spiral into a half clear sideball-great idea but no big deal....
I might not have been doing it the way we do 'em these days -but the concept is the same...

So many people are concered with who they think did what first(I'm not singling out anyone specific-just genaralizing here)....i can assure you there are alot of blowers that don't post on this site that have been flippin techs that so many of you all on here think are so new and fresh-i know blowers that are totaly isolated -never been on this site and never heard of any of you-that have stumbled on/thought up /whatever -the same techs that alot of you all think some one else thought of first...when in reality alot of people can be having the same or simalar ideas -just because they are the logical next step-or maybe its the "collective conscience"...i don't know...
A good example of this is the stemless bubbler....
My older brother (who introduced me to glass)started in '96...by about '97 -'98-ish he made a series of stemless bubblers...these were headdy even by todays standards-fully surfaced worked gold & silver two/three layer shit-nice shaping,etc,,,TIGHT-he'd never seen one-never heard of one -knew very little about glass in the outside world...but he's super creative and technicly minded-and it just came to him that you could use gravity force like in plubming and shit too make headdie bubs without downstems-I told him they were Stupid at the time(LOL)...!Well i ate my words on that...it's '06 now and people can't get enough of 'em.
It semms to me that alot of people are all wound up about getting recognition for some little variation they put on something ....when everything they know is something some one else has already done before ...at some time in some place weather they are aware of it or not.
If someone does something ground breakingly different (which is seldom)for the most part everyone knows who did it-so why sweat it.
Everyone thinks that cutting and polishing, sanblasting and grall, electroforming, retticellos ,drop-ins,etc.are these new things...people have been doing this shit for a long time with "normal"glass art-but a bunch of pipe-makers take a class or somethig and think this shit is the craziest newest stuff, when there is already plenty of people out there that have already conceived of or executed the same or similar things years before,-they might not have applied it to a pipe -but glass is glass to me .

The reality (in my opinion)is that we are all-as a whole snowballing together in knowledge and technique ,through time -just like all the thousands of glassmakers all over the world that were doing crazy shit hundreds, even thousands of years before us-that has led us to where we are today.

And who exactly are you(Erik) refering to,that i should give props to when you say ?...
"i like it when people give a shout to who theyve been getting half of thier vision from at the moment"...it seems to me that these pieces are fairly basic & generic in style...maybe thats just me....but the people who do simalar shit are all more or less my peers-and would probably agree that there is nothing that hasn't already been totaly beat to death on these pieces...or maybe not- i don't know or care...i make alot of shit that covers a pretty broad range and hit on a lot of styles -but i'm always moving forward and in new directions.I just draw off the stuff around me like everyone else-wheather it's a 500 hundred year old goblet or cameo bowl or a pipe from yesterday.
And it's not like i don't see little twists or copies of things i do in peoples work(not that I give a Flying fuck-I haven't done too many things i can think of that haven't already been done one way or another) and i don't get props on it -or someone gives props to whoever they first saw do it or think came up with it(or may have come up with in

Not personal or antagonistic in the least....don't be "concerned"
Sometime you gotta state your mind.
Just runnin my mouth & my thoughts, while wasted....!
And like i said all the POSITIVE shit got cut off(There was a lot of it too-1000 word limit or something & they cut ya off)
Any way i'll get nice and Twisted soon and finish my ranting.....
Peace to all.
Props to many.
