Well here's the new shop. My hood assembly is all thanks to AJ. He reassured me about the wonders of foil faced foam insulation board. So three sheets,(1/2", $15 a sheet) two rolls of foil tape, a new fan, some 30' of 10" aluminum flex duct, and a little blood, I'm all done. The foam board really does not want to explode into flames like you think it would. Foil tape, by the way, is way better than duct tape.

just something to check..
just wondering if you checked how much air is acutally coming out at the end of your ductwork. propellor looking fans don't push well through ducting, that's why i ask. (squirrel cage fans are designed to push through ducting)
