Someone was gracious and gave this piece a home at Moe.Down last weekend. I continue to revisit this shape, as it is becoming quite popular for me. In this one i enjoyed playing with how it is held.

This is the largest to GlassPimps this time through... its a right-handed piece with pinwheel termination discs made up of elvis, unob, and white. theres also some onyx trim around all the pinwheel discs. all the webbing is elvis, and despite no canes to weigh it down, it still managed to just beat the 2 pound mark. although all the pics are lying down, i had in mind a wall hanger...

another in the web series...this is the most complete webbing done by me yet.

this piece has alot of colors in the re-wigs, but basically is a hyacinth highlight piece. this ones pretty big at just about 2 pounds, but theres some hefty weight in 7 canes. ...this ones heading out GlassPimps, see you on friday :)

this medium sized raptor claw stemless bub(1.5 lbs.) is made from olive, cherry, unob, and white. this pinwheel variation is quickly becoming my favorite yet. ...this one also is heading out to GlassPimps.

i dont do it often anymore, but GlassPimps asked for a series of smallish dry pieces, similar to one i did a few weeks before. this was fun, and i thank the Pimps for asking.

props to allisa for the inspiration on the red... not sure how she got that red, but this is what i came up with. the piece was done with plumb kush tube, elvis, and unob. theres also a disco cane, and a honeycomb mib.

...more like a raptor hangnail. definetly my favorite style of stemless. theres a bunch of colors here ...white, onyx, white satin, unobtanium, evergreen, forrest, jade, olive, and acid yellow. the tube pull was a mystery aventurine that i forgot to burn the haze off of. its a palm piece but still weighs 1.5lbs, and is currently at home with the GlassPimps.

Thanks to GlassPimps... this piece was done with cherry, periwinkle, white, onyx, dark satin, and a little obtanium. its a pretty hefty one for me at 2.5 lbs., it was a fun one though, and i think the windows came out pretty cool.

Third in the web series, sort of raptorish in shape, this ones done with forrest, periwinkle, white, and onyx, tube stock color is black violet. weighs about a pound and a half and can be found in the collection of the GlassPimps, thanks to them and to Fro, Shad, and Banjo for my usual bites.

Inspiration for this comes from Micah Evans "Cages", and from Fro and J.Lee. Thanks also to Eric A. and Vapor Glass for my new best friend Elvis. this was a fun medium sized stemless piece(1#), almost all elvis, with white, onyx, forrest, and olive (my second best friend). as for the repeating windows, i like the effect of the wigs sort of floating there.

Special thanks to the Glasspimps, the Goodtimes NH crew, and Jerry for the new sig milli. heres a couple of hammers that fall into "think outside the reversal" category. the first is obtanium, aq.azul, and onyx. the other is olive, cherry, unob.,and onyx. both weighed 3/4 of a pound, and were the first pieces with my new siggy milli that jerry made for me.

first piece in my new shop... this one was done with ion-x red tubing, disco, onyx, and white. theres also a couple spoons made with leftover tubing i had. all (obviously) with the pinwheels ive been doing lately.

Snake scale thingy for the car, and standard tripledot pinwheels for the m.p. and bowl. dark satin, olive, onyx, peri., and white were used. came in at 375 grams.

heres another dry piece in my current series of pattern exercises. i used cobalt tubing, disco, twilight, peacock, and white. the ribon has cobalt and am. purple mix.

if8was11 reprise...this is the second piece in this series. this was quite a bit more of a pain than the bowtie one, it prolly to twice as long. but there is a cool effect in there, if youve got the patience. damn near drove me nuts, defintely the most involved sections ive ever done. it was the same tube pull as the other and likewise came in at 3/4 lb. ...thanks for looking...
...hey dosh i hope this ones ok for our trade.

id like to keep this one... if i wasnt so fond of eating... the intricacies of boro patterns is what originally drew me to the medium. the first reversals, then on to the bitch windows, double inlays, and my current favorite the 9way(...if 6 was 9). all of those patterns ive bit from others(no duh), and im sure this one is not the first but in my feeble attempt to give back, or atleast try to offer something others may bite... i offer up the quadruple bowtie(...if 8 was 11). rather time consuming, at 2 hours for one section, and 15 handles later...but there it is. it needs to be more clean proportionally, but im way stoked on its effect, the 11way. true thanks to Shad, and Fro for opening the minds eye... im trying to not bite so hard, and find my own way in this world, but the patterns you have popularized are just so much fun to do! this is a pretty beefy piece at 3/4 of a pound, and the coloros used where, chinex green tube. tube pull was, portland, obtaniun, onyx, evergreen, forrest, olive, acid

the biggest struggle for me is to find my own style... the pinwheels may be a remotly original variation (im sure its been done before but i havent seen it) so lets see here i bit... Banjo, Shad, Fro, Bearclaw, and Smilley. (theres not much you guys havent done)
i spent about 16 hours or so on this one. it came in pretty big at 22 sections, 1 1/2 pounds, and 10" x 6". mostly cobalt, and disco. the pinwheels are forrest and acid. the tube pull was what was left from my last 2 posts. this was made over 2 days, and the disco never gave me any problems, it never cracked once. im also forever amazed at what a 10mm handle can hold! ...anyway, thanks for checking it out... p.s. disco photos like crap

|

This one came in a bit larger than i planned, but it went pretty smooth. it maxed out my tripple beam at a pound and a half, pretty big for being on a 10mm handle the whole time. it got a little stressful towards the end. i used dark amethist tube encasement, and the rest of the onyx, twilight, peacock, aq,azul, forrest, evergreen, olive, acidyellow tube encasement i used in the previous two posts. theres also 4 canes, and a triangulated vortex.

before i left fro's shop he skeched out a piece for me to do when i got home. sortof a FROmework piece, and this is what came out. all in all its got 21 sections and weighs just over a pound. i had alot of fun with those windows, and learned alot about form/function here. i planned on more addons but was getting very nervous about it cracking, so ill call it done. colors used where... am.purple, onyx, portland, twilight, peacock, aq. azul, evergreen, forrest, and olive.

more playing around with the sax style stemless. unob, onyx, and indian red make up this 300gram bub. there are 11 reversals, pinwheeled coil pot bowl, and a honeycomb, 4 cane arms and a sig marble. im having a bit more fun with the addons, and this one went smoothly i guess, atleast it never cracked.

this little guy weighs just over 250 gr., and fits nicely in the palm. it was done with olive, twilight, and onyx. i paid more attention to shaping and function on this one than pattern work. in the end though i like how it came out, theres nine reversals, 2 of them donuts, 3 latty arms, and a traingulated vortex.

This series was done while spending a few days working at Fro's shop. Unending graditude to him, his family, and shopmates. In this series there is a bub(250 grams) which has 14 reversals, 4 solid arms, and a couple marbles. the dry hammer(110 grams) is 4 sections and 2 arms, the spoon(45 grams) is just 4 reversals. the millies are by Jerry, and will be a staple in my glass diet from now on(i cant wait for the sigs to be done).
The hardest part of this series was just remembering to work, instead of stare in amazement at Mike flowing through his pieces. Over the next few weeks(or a lifetime) i hope to explore the knowledge of form and pattern work bestowed upon me.
