green bowtie sherlock#2

green bowtie sherlock#2

basically a repeat of yesterday. just practicing on these small peices. it's more economial if new ideas don't work. i really need to work on my add-ons and the flow of my shaping. practice makes perfect. let me know what ya think.

changed up the bridge on the last one. looks much better.

tuggin it up!

another WooD inspired tugboat. i just can't seem to get enough. this was my first go at coiling. i used forest green and blue spruce. it was definitely a learning experience, as is every peice i make.

completely bit from WooD's tugboats. almost didn't post it because it is such a hard bite. big ups to Wood for developing this shape. in my opinion it is one of the best dry shapes ever. it's gonna make WooD a legend.

little dry set

little dry set

these were a couple quickies following a disater day. spent a whole day on making the white peice and its attachments but didn't have time to finish it. woke up the next morning to find it cracked in the kiln. fixed the cracks and started with the attachments and the damn thing jumped off the blow tube and died. it was my first complete disaster, guess it was bound to happen. oh well.

experiment with amber purple

experiment with amber purple

so i did a tube pull with all amber purple colors. not too happy with how it came out. i probably should have broke it up a bit with some more opaque colors.

props to WooD on the shaping

amber thing

amber thing

shaping was a little off on this one. oddly enough it was the first one the local shop owner HAD to have for himself. seems like my least favorite stuff always goes quicker. can't complain about that!
