(Dry Pieces)

rowdy roddy piper aint no tube used on this piece, all 4-6mm rod and fume. t'was gonna be side-car-less, kinda hammer-ish, but my buddy pointed out that it'd kinda look bat-man-ish if i did so.... glad he pointed that out, thanks:P

my name is Dan, and i've been on a torch since '99 in BC Canada. i'll continue to play with glass and fire 'till i cut and burn my hands off... at that point i'll have to learn to spin with my feet! cant get enough of this stuff.
thanks to everyone who posts and browses this site, it has been a great source of information, inspiration, and connection.

word...
thanks, guys!! props to kevin, he's fumalicious, indeed!!!! he always reminds me how sweet the metals can look. i think a big part of it is that i just figured out a wicked combo of settings on my camera, and i have a tripod. it's a little Nikon 3200 er sumthin, 3.2 Mpx. i set it on "cloudy", "vivid color" "macro" and reduce the exposure time a bit, with auto flash, in a room with lots of ambient sunlight(through white curtains), on a black hoodie draped over a box. er sumthin like that. the pics turn out lookin almost like the piece has been used. try it out. play around with settings, my pics used to never really show the colors properly, but these settings are doin' the trick, lately. you just have to trick the camera into 'seeing' the 'way' you want it to.... perspective....?

stellar
work is spectacular and i love the experimentation with the camera seems like your bending it to work for you, just dont tell a photographer what your doing they can be so anal about the right and wrong way when all that matters is the clarity and you have nailed it!!! as you nailed the fume and shaping on this little bad boy, great work keep it up, i like to hear of the lack of tube, working outside the box yo!!!!!

Your fuming is awesome, great variations and great shades throughout. Is this all fume cane or what method of application did you use?
