This piece is the result of a week long class with pipe making genius Jason Lee. I would recommend taking one of his classes to anyone serious about high-end glass. He was very open about everything he did. Besides just demonstrating, he explained the steps in great detail and in a practical manner.
I was able to contribute a few sections and a millie. Jason calls it a collab, even though I spent most of my time watching him work.
Overall, it was definitely a highlight of my glassblowing career so far. The class opened my eyes to so many new techniques, strategies, design, and ways of making the pieces more functional. Thanks so much Jason!
This lesson/collaboration would not have been possible without Freedom 35. You guys rock. THANK YOU!!

HELL YA
Man I am glad that this opportunity became a reality for you. There is no doubt in my mind that this week will be a huge turning point in your overall body of work. There probably aren't many artists who have the talent to take your skills to the next level, but J is definitely one of them.

!!!
i have to say, being a good friend of Jason's for about 10 years now, and being very personally influenced by working with him , i dont think ANYONE has had such a direct influence on so many pipemakers work as Jason has. One day we need to give him a lifetime achievement award or something. Can you imagine what the glasspipe scene would be like today without Jason Lee? im not even sure id still be blowing glass if it wasnt for his influence and passion for this medium....THANK YOU JASON!

Nice. Jason has certainly been pushing this medium (and doing it well) for longer than a lot of us have even been behind the torch.
^^^ thanks for the kind words everyone!
it was great to meet and work with ya eric. ...and of course its a collab. you helped me design it, did more than a few reversals, shaped the jar, so you deserve credit for you part in it. i had a heck of alot of fun in minnesota, and the Freedom 35 tour was to die for, thank for all the generous hospitality guys!

I learned from somebody that J taught in Corvallis , OR . Although I never have had a direct lesson from him , I spoke with him at a festie back in 99' and was influinced by everything he said . I would love to one day get direct lessons from the genius himself .
