Duality

  « Michael Money's Gallery

(Glass Sculpture Bubblers)

Duality 27" tall natural perk from October 06. this was a significant piece for me. It is one of the few works i've done which has real emotional content for me.

Jared Delong (a.k.a. Cutty) did a fantastic job on the metal work. And Clinton - in lieu of my usual mentor, Banjo - gave me the necessary guidance to bring this piece to fruition.

Thanks for stoppin by.

I fell in love with glass in 2001, hanging with Banjo and Obie. One day they let me make a marble, and it was all over for me.
Lately, I have been trying to focus on the ceremonial nature of smoking. The action itself is a sacred endeavor, and i believe the instrument should be able to reflect and enhance that.
"Any fumbling of the pipe will inevitably result in your or my death" - Don Juan.
I must give my deepest appreciation and respect to Banjo, who taught me nearly everything, and to Chaz, Obie, Drew, and Shad, who showed me the rest. Thanks and respect also to Clinton, Lucio, Mickelsen, and so many others who have inspired so many of us young'uns.
ADVICE: glass is very much like a woman. If you want to understand it you must begin with care and respect. You can't force glass, you can only work WITH it.
thank you for visiting, and keep having fun!
