I run a shop and recently we had money stolen from the shop fund by. It turns out that it was probably someone who works in the shop........Anger, betrayal, saddness, surprise, its all in there. I took all the hate and distrust and tried to put it into this piece. I got as much in as I could without destroying it. Then I felt better. Cathartic. ( Is that how you spell cathartic?)

I have started to develope this free style aproach, where i use asymetrical shapes and my carving techniques to create a piece. There is no prep work involved in this piece other than the point and the tooth cane. This is the first with more to come. Hey thanks for taking the time!

There is allot going on in this one. I think maybe too much, but I learned from it so i guess it was a victory. Thanks for looking.

Hi Im Salt in case we havent met. Im new to this site and the reaction to my work has inspired me to make more and reach a little further. This piece was off the top, except for the eyes. Its uh my new kick and its really fun. I like alot of music that could be described as underground hip hop. The idea of the "freestyle" ryhme has allways intriged me. I sort of realized by accident that I could apply it to my work. This is the result. Thanks for looking. keep it hot.

Hi I'm Salt. I love what I do. I am very excited to be a part of this site and thus the "scene." Everyone has been very enthusiastic and welcoming since I posted. Thanks I wasnt sure what you guys,(and gals), would think. I would like to give respect to those who have inspired me and through the work they have developed helped me see what is possible.
I frst saw the work of one Scott Deppe in a California shop in 2001. I was 6 months behind the torch. I was only a few inches away from work that, well you just have to see it. Two years later I met Scott at a gas confrence in Seatle. He had these Dragon spoons. If you've never seen one then I'm sorry. Scott's work helped me to realize what is possible and that there are no rules, just ideas, and thermodynamics.
This list could go on for a long time. It includes artists from many mediums, I know its lame but I have missspelled some names Im sure, I'll try to fix them asap. Loren Stump, William Morris, Ricky Swallow, Dondi, Milton Townsend, Picaso, Kozic, Robert Mickleson, Jared Delong, Alex Gray, Aesop Rock, Harold W. Cooney, Clinton, Bearclaw, MURS, DJ Shadow, Shepard Farley, Bansky, Sage Frances, Jason Lee, Marcel, and most recently, Smiley, JAG, Mr Gray, Banjo, and Im going to add more latter, right now I need sleep.
YOU
are awesome!
