had to try out some of that salty action for myself. made shortly after salt posted the first of those contorted creations... soooo inspiring, thanks, dude! i haven't been in front of a computer for any duration in a while, so this is my first post in some time. my mom really liked this piece, so it's hers now, and i'm up visiting, and she's got a computer.... got my camera... figured why not.... .... .... .. . dan

my name is Dan, and i've been on a torch since '99 in BC Canada. i'll continue to play with glass and fire 'till i cut and burn my hands off... at that point i'll have to learn to spin with my feet! cant get enough of this stuff. thanks to everyone who posts and browses this site, it has been a great source of information, inspiration, and connection. BTFL luster on the powder work.
That style seems much more soft glass friendly than the brittle boro. Its very tempting though. I wonder if using more of the carmel and less metalic colors help avoid the crack issues. another thought is that they mite have cracks in the layers but no way to tell.
It be great if Salt did speak about it here.

that thing is bad ass
and as far as cracking issues whenever i do shit skulpture wise with necissary sketchy welds i reheat the whole mass as often as possible otherwise it cracks and i throw a temper tantrum and cry. oh and before you throw it back in the kiln leave the kiln door open a bit so its not to hot inside causing rapid temperature changes and broken glass.
your head has mad style and i wanna see more.
