Smoking Goddess by Banjo. Historically, much of the purpose to be found in a functional piece of art obviously came from the function itself. A craftsman is not usually expected to provide esoteric justifications in support of his or her work and in theory; even the most exquisitely crafted guitar should be more enjoyable to listen to than to look at. The Function delivers the statement. The trend of treating a glass pipe primarily as a piece of art and secondarily as a utilitarian device can be considered a relatively recent phenomenon and this shift from function to form is evidence that our collective voice as a movement is maturing. More and more people are buying these"art glass pipes" with no intention of using them. Many years of intensive "Schooling" has given us a profoundly deep reservoir of technical skill, and the yearning to use these skills to express our deeper emotions is becoming stronger with every day. Whoop, Whoop, Whoop. All be damned. My very own gallery. It was only after J at Rolling High Las Vegas posted some of his collection. I saw all the nice feedback that I decided to share my work with this forum. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Hope you enjoy! I'm probably not going to be commenting much but I do read your posts and gratefully appreciate the love. Thanks to Rolling High Las Vegas for the Photos and the Presentation.
$$$$ BITERS POLICY $$$$
There are no biters, only dedicated Artists keeping a tradition alive. If you see anything in my gallery, you are inspired by, and want to incorporate into your own work, by all means go ahead. I would consider it a compliment.
Peace Peace

wow that's dope
I get what your saying but you can't knock someone who would only use a piece like that on special occasions or someone who cherishes a piece so much that they don't want to smoke out of it. I'm sure a lot of art collectors want their art to go up in terms of monetary value as well and unfortunately smoking out it decreases its value.

I'm sure someday....
there will be a piece that will sell for 100 G's+. It wouldn't suprise me if it were one of yours lol. Think about it I bet Mark Cuban would make a purchase like that and use it too.

I'm always amazed with the concept, construction and presentation of your pieces. The artist statement creates an even deeper meaning to your work. Thats a beautiful piece of glass. MB.

The mouthpiece is unveiled by removing the headpiece or crown. The "Smoking Goddess" is over 30" tall 12" wide and comes with two stands. Not pictured a separate wall mount. One of my favorite Banjo pieces this year.
