these are some hooked can piece that are re-inspired shapes that I was trying in 2000. they dont sit, but they do lean on marbles in one way or another. I originally started trying these pieces after checking out Clintons pieces...but re-examined the style and got re-inspired after looking at doshers amazing pieces...much respect. I posted some old photos of the 2000 shapes too. peace steve

Ithaca's glass weekend grand opening. Demos by Martin, Tim, Alyssa (the store owners)and a few others on Friday and Sunday. Gourd and I spun records all day and into the night on sunday; we got a good "block-party" response once the sun starting going down. Big thanks out to Ithaca's Glass for a great weekend! I wish I got more pics, but i was on the tables alot and housing too many growlers!!!More demos to come!-G

this stemless contraption was really experimental for me, it quickly got big and difficult to handle, but I got through it. It seems to function well, I just have to try it on a smaller scale. This piece was also halted halfway through due to a hand injury, which made it a bit difficult to marble on day two. july 2004 SG

Sean (STF) and I decided to collaborate and spend 5 days to make a set of three matching pieces: A very large double glass-on-glass diffused bub; a single chamber layed-back diffused glass-on-glass bub; and a matching full-sized dry. The set called for, and used entirely; two full length tube canes, 2 and half hand pulled jet-black tubes roughly 3ft each. we added in a larger party slide with the remaining tubing. Good times! Cheers!

My name is Steve Gelb. I began working with glass full time in 1995 in the Pocono's PA. Since 1996 I have been living in the hills just outside Ithaca NY and keeping a studio with a few great friends in the city of Ithaca. Some of my biggest inspiration has been music, poetry and the work of my mentors and peers including but not limited to (in no specific order) Aaron F, Joey G, Ezra, Ease, Eli, George Kennard, Emilo Santini, Eric Sussman, Huck, Frito, Sean, Jesse, kxb, Jason Lee, Banjo, Robert mickelsen, Drew, and countless others on and off of this website. I am currently in school, but spend most of my time on the torch. when I'm not in class, I am filling custom and wholesale orders. One-on-one and group workshops of all levels are welcome at Buttermilk studios. Rental time is also availabe. Thanks for checking out my gallerys everyone, much love. Steve
