found while on a hike with my research team in an uncharted region of an unknown mountain range somewhere in the jungles of central america. the object appears to be a sort of smoking utensil. one of many artifacts uncovered, yet this specimen is of the finest quality, and in a perfect state of preservation. i have set up camp, and intend to personally continue the excavation, as it is clear there is much more to be discovered. this piece will be transported with utmost care to THE ROLLING HIGH RESEARCH FACILITY, later this week, to undergo various tests, including carbon dating. what a find!!ha ha ha,, that was fun,, hand-drawn images appear to be bearclaw in origin.

This five piece set is a tribute to the og horus set. The energy surrounds the dry disc hammer and flows from there. All the cold working focuses on elements found in horus, and the main focals are abstract representations of the hard work involved in horus. Thanks for looking.

Gods from African Mythology... ELEGUA
ELEGUA: Trickster God of Crossroads, Beginnings and Opportunity.
He's the Guardian of the Crossroads of Life. Whenever there are decisions to be made, he provides opportunities and second chances. If you're lucky. As a Trickster God, the childlike ELEGUA can sometimes make things even more complicated. At a whim he can turn a simple choice into a vast conundrum of paradox.

this gallery page isn't featuring a piece, but several. i categorized this page as collaborative glass art not because it is a collaboration piece. but a sort of collaboration of thought. the evolution of an idea. one pattern, in a sea of possibilities. thanks and props to J.P. for being an innovator and for pushing boundaries. i feel we bounced this back and forth a little in a really cool and positive way. the sub category is tips and how to's, because i think it is a great example of two artists being inspired by eachother, and respectfully working ideas out, from across the country. again, it's just one small evolution in an ocean of possibilities, not hyping anything,. just thought it was cool. thanks j.p.,,, i'll post some pics of pieces tied to this soon. thanks for looking.

this specimen was discovered near the banks of the sand river. over the course of time this river has nurtured a multitude of civilizations and changed it course countless times. according to geochronology, the artifact dates back 75 to 80 B.C., predating the portland vase..stunning evidence that glass was manipulated far earlier than we have been led to believe. due to the fragilty of the piece, the matrix will recieve no further removal. near by petroglyphs indicate this culture was heavily dedicated to smoking rituals. much more to be revealed.

just wondering
hey i baught my first artistic piece this last year and i have had quite a few people say that it looks like a bearclaw and i was wondering if it was at all possable. i got it at a store called earth pig in colorado springs. it has a big moss colored sun on the front and the base glass looks like amber tubing. there is also a very very cool bead on the back side. it has another bead that looks like a signiture almost but i couldnt make it out. kinda looks like F2#K but i dont know what that is. please get back to me soon if at all.

Website
Hey bearclaw, first off I have to say your glasswork is amazing. My buddy just got one of your bowls from Wheezers, and it's the smoothest bowl i've ever smoked. The way the horns can hold a lighter is simply genius.
But yeah, i just wanted to offer to design a really crazy website for you totally for free. I haven't been able to find one, and I know i could make your name a lot bigger. if you're interested just email me at adbyerly(at)comcast.net

just wondering...
What kind of cement material do you use for your prehistoric artifact pieces? Also wondering...do you break them on purpose or do you use pieces that broke on their own?
