Dragons are said to be evil and diabolical creatures. In Christian symbology, a dragon is seen defeated by the archangel Michael, whereas in myths and fairy tales dragons are killed and slain by the hero of the story. In China however, this mythological symbol dates back to 3000 BC and stands for happiness, immortality, procreation, fertility and activity. Dragons were believed to ward off evil spirits. Take a look at a Chinese city and you’ll see dragons decorating ancient monuments and buildings, sometimes playing with a pearl or thunder-ball.From the Han dynasty and on (206 BC – 220 AD) dragons took a symbolic meaning based on their colours. Chinese dragons were often red or gold, turquoise or white. The turquoise dragon was the symbol of the Emperor, the East, the rising sun, the rain as well as the fifth element of the Chinese zodiac. The white dragon on the other hand stood for the West and death. 12" long.

Talent from all across the US attended and collaborated on glass artwork that was donated to a gallery committed to helping the glass community. Materials and assistance for the event were donated by Glass Alchemy, UST, Winship, Frantz Art Glass, Cornerstone, Living Glass Works and Glass Evolution. Thanks to everyone that helped make the event happen! Pictures of the finished artwork will be posted soon; some of it is still in the kiln.

I made a Pac-t with the devil to create a Pac-age of pre-Pac-ed pipes for the oncoming a-Pac-olypse. I always wanted to be a comedian, but puns are all i ever come up with.

grungy New Mexico town, and told them the situation they only took his blood, told him they would get back to him and released him shortly after arriving because he doesn't have insurance. The following day he was to never wake and we are told by preliminary results that dehydration from the metal poisoning was the proximal cause of his passing. For those of you who didn't know Daniel personally he was one of the most gentle, genuine, compassionate, caring, enthusiastic, ambitious, all around talented, fun, energetic, artistic, friendly, imaginative, positive, shirt off his back well-rounded kind of guy. He will always be my best friend and I will forever dedicate my glass work in his memory. I have spent more time working and talking glass with Daniel Trilli than anyone else and I will try my hardest to use and share the knowledge, this great glassblower shared with me, to the world. Daniel really respected all of you who post and all you do to push glass into the future. I will never remove this page from my gallery and will relay all messages to his family and friends. Daniel Trilli we will never forget you and we will always cherish your contribution to the glass world. -Love Always Anton

R.I.P. Daniel Trilli - Much Love & Respect

I am so saddened to inform you all that may have had the privilege to know or to see some of the amazing glass produced by Daniel Trilli, that he has passed on and is no longer with us on this planet earth. Over the past year I have struggled emotionally and cried many times watching my best friend suffer from Bi-polar disorder and loose his ability to be the artist he was and even a person at times. In the last 4-5 months his medication had been effective and he had started to make some beautiful art marbles again. On Friday (4/13) he ventured into what would be his last headie piece, a 15 section all inside gold and silver dots dry horny thing, but this piece would prove to be fatal. Knowing better but suffering from some mental errors caused by the disorder Daniel worked about 15 hours with NO VENTALATION because of the cold weather, leading to severe metal poising and for several days suffered from vomiting and dehydration. On Monday night his mom brought him to an emergency room in a small

I'm Too Saxy For My....

Jason Lee. Marbleslinger. Sherlock Tribute collaboration series. Was too good of an idea to make just one, so Jason and i agreed on a limited series of five pieces, here is #2,3,4, and 5. I made the prep work and Jason shaped the pieces. I designed and sandblasted the images. Im really happy with how these came out, very clean. Jason is a true guru of the sherlock shape, i thank him once again for adding his magic. Thanx to my shopmate Hops for hooking up his new blaster, it works like butter....

Kiss the Shark

This piece is the result of the recent Marcel and Jason Lee workshop. All of the wigged tubing is from just one pull. The class was amazing, I can't even begin... Big thanks to both Jason and Marcel for guidance on this as well as Ease who helped with the butt seal. And I can't forget MNP for use of the Kiln to assemble it... this thing won't fit in a 9169. 17.5" tall with a 5.5" flat spot on a 6.25" wide base
