ELEGUA

Gods from African Mythology... ELEGUA ELEGUA: Trickster God of Crossroads, Beginnings and Opportunity. He's the Guardian of the Crossroads of Life. Whenever there are decisions to be made, he provides opportunities and second chances. If you're lucky. As a Trickster God, the childlike ELEGUA can sometimes make things even more complicated. At a whim he can turn a simple choice into a vast conundrum of paradox.

.. Orange Practice ..

I woke up the other morning, and was going to push myself to make some production glass for a local shop. While pulling points I saw a chunk of stick-stack and an old blow-in I made a while back and decided to try a couple things J. Lee had showed me in the lesson last week. The next day I finished this bubbler. It was nice to practice the techniques Jason had taught. Assembly and everything went much more smoothly then in the past. Obviously this piece is inspired by Jason Lee. Actually everything I make from now on will be inspired from that lesson in some way. Practice, Practice, Practice Thanks for looking!!

"HOLY MACKEREL!"

That (and I quote) is what Les Claypool said when I gave him this piece! Getting a chance to give it to him was almost as challenging as making it!! After an excellent show in Denver, I finally got the chance to meet one of my favorite musicians, and to bestow upon him this artwork. For you glass purists, I know you'll be disappointed to find that the sculptures on this pipe are made of polymer clay(fimo). It was a tough decision, but I like mixed media, and I also beleive that Les is pretty into clay(mation). The glass colors are supposed to represent cheese- get it? I used a real brass treble hook, wire for the rod, and flexible bead cord for the line. Many hours of planning and sweating it out in front of the torch (and in the mosh pit) went into this work of art. I have left the naming up to Les...

Jason Lee LESSON/collaboration

This piece is the result of a week long class with pipe making genius Jason Lee. I would recommend taking one of his classes to anyone serious about high-end glass. He was very open about everything he did. Besides just demonstrating, he explained the steps in great detail and in a practical manner. I was able to contribute a few sections and a millie. Jason calls it a collab, even though I spent most of my time watching him work. Overall, it was definitely a highlight of my glassblowing career so far. The class opened my eyes to so many new techniques, strategies, design, and ways of making the pieces more functional. Thanks so much Jason! This lesson/collaboration would not have been possible without Freedom 35. You guys rock. THANK YOU!!

Freeek/E. Ross (Mid-Coast Collab)

Freeek and I made this piece last week. It was a complete 50/50 collaboration, as you can probably tell. It's got a bunch of wild Freeek stlye design, with my more conservative shaping. It was nice getting to work with someone else for a change. Freeek, Your the man! Thanks for coming to the Twin Cities to work with me. We will definitely have to try another sometime. Maybe a double, (lol) flawless execution.

"Relax in the safety of your own delusions."

The voice of Aiwass came from over his left shoulder in the furthest corner of the room. This voice is described as passionate and hurried, and was "of deep timbre, musical and expressive, its tones solemn, voluptuous, tender, fierce or aught else as suited the moods of the message. Not bass—perhaps a rich tenor or baritone.... Ryno made the bottom ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanx for peepin...!!
