VaporDome Series 2 - Eric Ross

VaporDome Series 2 - Eric Ross

(Blade)
I was fortunate enough to get up to the Twin Cities and melt some glass with Eric Ross. Eric not only has a flawless execution in his glass, but is a phenomenal person. He showed me a few things on the torch, and we got started on VaporDome Signature Series 2, which will be unveiled in Vegas this February along with some other big advancement in Vaporizing.

I also had the opportunity to catch up with the Freedom 35 boys, which was mind blowing to say the least. I have been traveling and studying the glass pipe counter culture for 15 years, and these guys are by far the most ridiculous group of collectors I have ever seen. These cats were knee deep in Jason Lee, Fro, Cowboy, Smiley, Darby, Bearclaw and anyone else who is paving the way in our scene. Truly breathtaking. Not to mention great guys as well. Rarely do you get to sit down with Non-artisans and get that deep into glass as an artistic medium.

Ross and the Freedom crew definitely put Minnesota on the map in a big way.

Purple Mooninite

Purple Mooninite

this is a 3-way collab- Firefly on glass, Kiebler on faceting, and Jessica on wire wraps. The centerpiece is a beautiful moonstone which these pics do no justice to whatsoever.

here's a bubbler i just finished for a guy with the middle name of "floyd". i used mystery aventurine, amber purple, jade, and onyx. there's a personalized implosion, a dichro ribbon and an air trap amber purple marble. the colors are a bit washed out because i used pyrex brand tube (really thick compared to other brands) to lay the color on as well as tube encasing that with pyrex. i kinda like how it came out transparent, makes for a nice "color changer." hope you like...

i also added a couple pics of some other recent pieces...

Art Nouveau style has been used heavily by Stanley Mouse in his psychedelic concert poster art.
Being a Dead Head, Mouse's work has always been an inspiration to me.

Flower Sidecar Bubbler

Flower Sidecar Bubbler

(Teaspoon42)
Reversal piece from 2 tube pulls with flower implosion mib and raked leaves. I used Ivy green, millenium moss, lava, sunshine yellow, and avacado. I fixed the punty mark on the marble and flame polished the bowl, also fixed a small crack, but the owner got it before I could retake my pics.

Thanks to Troutman art glass for the Elvis, long may you reign king. The black and fume perk was many of the sections I had made when first starting out, finally put them to use. The elvis stand up has a gong stand, and I see a future with many more gong adaptations for marbles and hiding places.
Side-car spill-proof stemless bubbler

I made this peice for a buddy of mine in Arkansas it took me 2 days to finish its about 1 1/2 feet long it has about 150 marbles on the outside. The whole peice is fumed with silver and gold stripes on top of hand mixed color that i make.caribbian blue boro stick as my honeycombs. The peice is spill-proof when laid on its side. When you smoke out of it, it sounds like thunder and hits like a freight train. I love smoking out of this peice.
