2006 Feb. Smoking Set #3
(

)
This series was done while spending a few days working at Fro's shop. Unending graditude to him, his family, and shopmates.
In this series there is a bub(250 grams) which has 14 reversals, 4 solid arms, and a couple marbles. the dry hammer(110 grams) is 4 sections and 2 arms, the spoon(45 grams) is just 4 reversals. the millies are by Jerry, and will be a staple in my glass diet from now on(i cant wait for the sigs to be done).
The hardest part of this series was just remembering to work, instead of stare in amazement at Mike flowing through his pieces. Over the next few weeks(or a lifetime) i hope to explore the knowledge of form and pattern work bestowed upon me.

Story of a girl...

This is a collaboration piece done from a sketch and an idea. This piece was made possible with help from Firefly, and a wire-wrap job by Keebler. I blew and pieced together the hollow forms, including my first donut, which took a little help to get it right. Then it cracked, and then a bunch of other cracks started popping up everywhere. I guess I was still thinking about my crazy adventure that landed me in Corvallis... That's a long story that the pipe can tell better than I can. Anyways, Firefly somehow brought it back from the dead and repaired all the cracks and added all the attatchments.
The solid spirals I sculpted separate from the piece (special thanks to Micheal of "Money Glass" for the tech tips).
The fiery Millefiori chip was created by Erik Anders.
Special Thanks to FireFly for all his help getting me back on my feet..

Window Magic
(

Glass Aficionado Magazine Cover piece for March 2007.
Reprinted from interview: For this piece I tried some new ideas I had recently with the clear wigwag windows. I have been playing around with these a lot the last year or two, and they were originally inspired by a Bearclaw piece.
I made some special stick stack tubing for this piece which has red/black lines on the inside of the tubing, and is completely black on the outside of the tubing. Most of the exterior of the pipe is black, but I utilize the clear wigwag windows to show the red/black designs on the inside of the pipe.
The piece is GonG style, and includes two different sized bowls and a matching GonG ash-catcher. I'm loving the GonG stuff because it adds new challenges in designing the piece...
