2006 Vessel Workshop in Olympia, WA

2006 Vessel Workshop in Olympia, WA

Here is a vessel workshop I taught in 2006 in Olympia Washington. I basically started making a vase, and ended up making a bubbler (by request) from start to finish as the demo. I then answered questions about my methods of assembly. If you are interested in lessons, feel free to contact me via the contact artist link at the bottom of my gallery.

Lee's shop, OlyWa

Lee's shop, OlyWa

Here's a shop I worked in for almost a year in OlyWa. Lee Ziggmeister, the owner and a good friend, apprenticed under Clinton. I worked in Clintons' old spot while I worked there, and I always used to joke that his spirit was there guiding me while I worked, which is cheesy because 1) he's not dead and 2) he'd probably laugh at my work since his work is so tight. Thanks again Lee, for all your guidance, input, and hospitality!

Here are some pics of the 2005 AGI in PA. If you've never attended, you are missing out! It's one of the funnest weeks I have all year. I missed out in 2006 and it's one of my biggest regrets.

2006 Eugene Flame-Off

2006 Eugene Flame-Off

The flame-off this year was the same weekend as AGI, antoher event I usually attend. But since AGI costs so much, asn Eugene was so close, I decided to see what this even twas all about. It was loads of fun, and basically like 2 days at AGI. I even took 2nd behind Sabina in the marble category! In 2007, the events will be on different weekends, so hopefully I can attend both.

2006 - Slinger/Carlson/N8 Colab

Here the three of us got together in my Oregon Studio and did the first three marbles of the Tribute Series; Robert Mickelsen, Josh Sable, and Gateson Recko. They came out pretty sweet, and I had tons of fun. More to come!

2005 - Katrina Hurrican Collaboration...

We gathered at Blue Devil's studio shortly after Hurrican Katrina hit New Orleans with intentions to collaborate and auction off anything and everything made that weekend to the Katrina Relief Fund. It was a great time and artists came from Oregon to Far north Washington State to help, and all in all it went rather well.

Studio Shots

This is our studio, its a 12 x 16. It was just a plain storage building until Joe worked his magic and transformed it into a studio that we can be proud of. Hoods were constucted by Pattishall's Industrial Contracting in Sanford, NC. Under each hood is an 8 inch pipe connected to a 1620 CFM attic fan. The bathroom fans are just for added ventilation.
