slinger's stop to buttermilk

slinger's stop to buttermilk

(SteveGelb)
Slinger stopped by buttermilk to get some interveiws with a few people for his documetary and Kris from Cannibis Culture was doing stills lighting and sound. I figured I'd take a couple shots of the production, we had a great time and everything went smoothly. Big thanks to Sling and Kris, It was nice to see you again

Well after a lot of hard work issue number 64 of Cannabis Culture Magazine has come out, here is a sneak preview of the glass featured in it.

First up is the "Pipe Classic" hosted by Bern Glass. Written by Marbleslinger.
... is the "Amanita and Fern" piece by Chaz as the centerfold.

And finally there is the new Magazine regular "Glass Masters" with Clinton as the first master featured.

The Mag is looking like it will be in the store's on Jan 21.

Huge thank you to everyone involved in letting this happen.

CC Mag is committed to representing the glass community in a responsible and intelligent manner.

Love to hear your thoughts.

Studio additions and re-builds

Studio additions and re-builds

(SteveGelb)
As three new permanent glass workers have arrived at the studio this spring we added a new room with an 18ft. bench, heres some pics of early construction. Its good to have JEH back in I-town and working at the studio, I cant wait to collab! That brings the studio total to seven people...plus some students; tons o' fun! Frito and Alix's bench is next to be destroyed and re-designed, hopefully next week. If your near Ithaca this summer, stop by and say hello.

well, having attended three egs flame-offs, I wasn't aware pipes were allowed in this competition. I was pleasantly surprised, but I didn't come prepared to make a pipe- maybe this year. Lisa (of lisa's peices) made a giraffe-neck pipe that won first prize!! Roze (who works so hard to organize this event) made a really cool lizard pipe. There was a table for selling our art, and there were some cool pipes on it!

For more pictures of this event, check out my glassartists page. (winters-glass)

2nd Annual Win a Weekend of Lessons

2nd Annual Win a Weekend of Lessons

(EugeneRain)
Win a Weekend of Lessons
With Eugene Rain and guest artist Nathan Aweida (Dizzle)!

Have you always wanted to take lessons from experienced Flameworkers, but never seem to have the money? Well now is your chance to win a 2 day private workshop designed to your specific needs, with not 1, but 3 veteran glass artists.

There will be a ton of really cool glass prizes to be won (examples might include marbles, wine glass, vases, bottles, raw glass) but the main prize will be a weekend of lessons with, Matt, Misha and Nate Aweida (Dizzle) who will be the guest teacher for this workshop. One of the best aspects of a class like this is almost 30 years of combined experience in one shop!!

Read more about this opportunity at www.thegldg.com in the general discussion. Look for a thread titled, "It’s that time again…Win a Weekend of Lessons with Eugene Rain and Nate Dizzle!".

A ton of action and shop shots with Nate "ketchup" Carter, Lauren "Lodo" Spear and Tunishia "T-jazz" Jasmine . 3 dry Nate pieces and a pendant, Lauren's first three inside out hammers-only a month of torch time!!! Tunishia's flower fumee and a ton of fun in shizzop shots.

Lauren "Lodo" Spear's three inside out hammers are her first ever attempts at inside out. Pretty fuckin nice. Lauren came over to take a lesson, now were best friends and shes almost as addicted as I am. Watch out for this girl, she's gonna be killin it before we all know it. Everything I show her she just seems to bust it out almost as if she was a glassblower in a past life or some shit....lol.

Tunishia "T-Jazz" Jasmine also has mucho natural talent, unfortunately she has a life and all that so she doesn't get to spend as much time as she would like.

Thanx for lookin.
Nate, Lauren and Tunishia
