3-in-1

3-in-1

(FluidMotionGlassw...)
this is a style i've been working on for a while.... the canes are pulled from the tube, not added on. they are fun to make, and just tricky enough to keep me on my toes. this was the first functional unit. A predecessor of this style, which i think im going to play with for a while, is the "3-in-1 stem section" on my 'sidecar-type device", which can be found elsewhere on my gallery. more units to come, which will better illustrate the effect i'm going for here. thanks for looking. Dan.

made the eyes out of NS turbo, white and ruby red powder, finished with carmel. used four sticks of white with some more ruby red. The oyster is dicro rapped tube with deepsea then amberpurple. Used scissors to cut it open. Starting to have more fun with art then with the pipes that I have ben making for years.the change is nice. But it just sits in the galery while the pipes always bring cash. The wood base is Poplar also worked by hand. coral was a gift .

The War on Drugs- What is and what if

The War on Drugs- What is and what if

(TimeZ)
I decided to post this, thaught some of ya'll might dig it. This is an art piece talking about the war on drugs. The base of the piece is a lazy susan so it spins. One side shows the the effects of the war on drugs, our everyday life (those of us in the U.S.). The other side shows more of a fantasy world- life if we had sensible drug policy. This side is absent of the negatives from the previous side and has some positives as well. Each pipe represents something specific. The pipe represents drugs in general (not drug abuse!), not just smoking and glass pipes. Tbis project was for a casting project in school- you had to use the multiple to make a sculpture. The pipes are all cast from plaster with a silicone mold I made. I got some good criticisim on this piece and if I did it again I would do things a bit differently, especially as far as the display of it all. I am very open to CC, please tell me what you think. And mad thanx to GLass pipes and all of ya'll!

simple amber tube with onyx and amber purple end. Takes about 15 minutes start to finish, good money for the time. Solid color tubing has not yet flooded the shops in Chi-town, So they are pretty profitable.
ART DECO

ART DECO

(KurtB)
For the past six months I'v been working on a new style for myself. I made some crazy reversals that were all new to me, but they all had that same feel. I came up with this piece that has a totaly new feel to it (art deco style). This piece was made with star white frit and black violet frit no color rods. Thats right all frit.
How To: Get Heat Rash

How To: Get Heat Rash

(NoDFX)
1) Work really looooong hours
2) Melt only large objects
3) Don't wear a shirt

Remember, when it comes to heat rash, there are no shortcuts. A heat rash this intense can only be achieved by seriously hard and dedicated work! Follow this method I have outlined above and you too are on your way to sporting a heat rash as stunning as this one.
