October 2007

October 2007

(DavidMakalaster)
So October has been a pretty good month for me. I have finally taken the time to get familiar with the proper flame for fuming gold; and now it doesn't take me 10 minutes to get the gold to stick but takes about 10 seconds. Also I have switched from 25x4 to 50x1.8 for my bats.... Best change I've made in a while for my working habits and I can thank firekist from the GLDG for that. I have also been working with dichro a bit as well with out any worries. Although I have done more beads as well, I am going to make a GA.org account rather than keep posting them here (aside from my dichro bead).
p.s. mt.katahdin in maine is an amazing area, go there if you have yet to.

Shout out to pakoh, maybe pipes are dead. Paragon said that it was too hot in my studio last summer and it fried the electric, causing it to go to max temp before cycling down....you see the results. Its hard to tell but there was alot of work in those pieces.

these are pics taken some time ago, before 'The Project' was even considered. they have been up here for a while. i didn't end up using 'ratti design 2' on it, but 1 and 3 are in there. design 1 ended up being the 'gold mandala', though the color burnt out a bit, and 3 is the cross-hatched stem section.

(HawkHillGlass)
I made this peice while taking a class with Mickelson. In the 3 days that I was there, he really opened up my mind, and pointed me in some new directions. This peice was sandblasted, and then oil painted.
