I started down 'the path of glass' in San Diego, Ca. in January 2000. I've traveled coast to coast learning and working in many different studios, from little sheds to kick-ass shops. I appreciate all the help, support and inspiration I've been given. MANY THANKS. In 2007 I moved back to Humboldt to raise my family and dedicate myself more to glass. I established a studio where I hope to find the time and space to push the boundaries of the art while encouraging cooperation and mutual understanding in our community.
In 2008 and 2009, I was honored with the opportunity to create all of the trophies, Eddy Lepp's Lifetime Achievement Award, Jack Herrer's Lifetime Achievement Award and the much-anticipated door prizes at Area 101's Emerald Cup.
In 2010, I was again honored by the glass community with the opportunity to host the 2010 Female Flame-Off at my shop, an amazing non-profit event celebrating the women who make glass great. An all-weekend, multi-event, throw-down competition, numerous jaw-dropping and inspiring pieces were created in just a few days -- which were then auctioned off to benefit the local food bank. Participants included the likes of Delane, Tammy Baller, Zingeber and -- of course, our amazing organizer, Lisa Toroni. Candy Apple, one of our main sponors, was also amazing. THANK YOU everyone who partipated, sponsored, helped or just attended for such a beautiful experience.
My goals for the year include finding the resources I need to truly showcase what I could really do with the right financing and time. Thank you to all who support independent American artists!
